Social Business to People.
The “P” stands for People. Business people sure, but still – and foremost – they are people. We believe in the power of that person to engage in social media, to have valuable discourse about their business needs and their organization’s business needs. Social media is a fantastic mechanism to move from the “water cooler conversation” of the last decades and move toward free, relevant conversation . . . across boundaries, across organizations, across supply chains or org charts or floors in your building. Social media makes the person more relevant than in any time in history. We take a page from the forward-thinking Forbes article written by Marty Homlish, Global CMO of SAP, where we should focus on the individual – the person – on the receiving end of the businesses of which we are trying to connect. This is a game of individuals!
We are a team within the Marketing organization of SAP AG that is chartered with helping our company connect with our audience to assist them in their decision-making process (and yes, hopefully attract them to SAP). We have over 90 years of combined experience in the enterprise software industry across many disciplines (strategy, consulting, product management, development, marketing and sales), and we believe it is this cross-functional approach that brings our unique perspective to social media.
The purpose of this blog is as much to share our experiences as it is to learn from all of you. Please join us in this journey into the uncharted and beautiful world of social media. Of course, any views represented in this blog are ours and ours alone.
Ted Sapountzis, Vice President Social Media Audience Marketing, SAP AG

Would love to contribute to your blog if you would like me to
Richard, We love guest bloggers! It is like the air we breathe. Our requirements are few and we take anyone who will abide by our simple rules: The topic needs to be “social media” focused and how it plays a role for marketing, we don’t shy away from mentioning products and solutions, but are views are agnostic – in that we aren’t “pitching,” keep it moderately short and clean (300-700 words is a good neighborhood), and lastly, we – the editorial staff of SocialB2P have final review of any and all content submitted on this site. Pretty simple – the best deal in town. Submit ideas or just go ahead and create your blog. Send them either through the site or to t.wilms@sap.com. We are excited about your participation and are pleased you reached out to us. It is probably because of our picture . . . we are a good looking, clean cut, safe bunch!!!
